Called to North Christchurch
Our Story
Kōmanawa Wesleyan Church is a new church that is part of the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Aotearoa New Zealand. We are supported by our resourcing church, The Well Church, and are part of a wider network of church planting across the motu.
Andrew and Jennie Sinclair felt the call to plant this church, and with the support of the wider denomination have been on the journey to launch Kōmanawa Wesleyan Church in October 2025. As we were on the journey of discovering where God wanted us to plant a new church we felt a strong pull to come home to Casebrook and the wider area. Andrew grew up here, and we started a family here. We already knew some families in the area who were also feeling called to serve the community, and along with a large group sent from The Well Church we started laying foundations in May 2025.
Kōmanawa Wesleyan Church has been planted to reach more people and share the good news of Jesus. We long to see whole communities transformed by the love of Christ. Our team is about lovingly serving, praying, and praising God as part of His mission of making disciples of Jesus. We are a church that is on a journey of growing within the community in which we serve, as well as supporting new church plants across the country. We are committed to sending and supporting new churches, with our first to be sent in October 2026.
